The event is jointly organized by Faculty of Engineering of Erbil Polytechnic University and Tishk International University IEC2023 technically sponsored by IEEE which is represented by IEEE Iraq Section. Presentations will be delivered by researchers from the international community, including presentations from keynote speakers and state-of-the-art lectures.
Associate Professor (Instruction) of structural engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)
Dr. Azzawi is an associate professor (Instruction) of structural engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). Besides his Ph.D. in structural engineering, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in projects Finance and Investment from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has been teaching various graduate and undergraduate courses in structural engineering and construction management. His research interests include seismic behavior of structural systems, SFRC hollow columns under large eccentricity, concrete breakout strength of anchors within FRC, utilizing GFRP bars in bridge decks, composite steel girders encased in FRC, utilizing expanded polystyrene (EPS) units as insulating concrete form (ICF) construction system, small to large scale experimental testing of reinforced concrete. Dr. Azzawi is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and American Wood Council (AWC). He was the recipient of the Outstanding Civil Engineering Teaching Award at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. He has served on several technical committees including ABET at UTA. He is the author of many publications and has been advising more than 20 graduate students.

Dr. Hakem Beitollahi received the BS degree in Computer Engineering from University of Tehran, Iran, and the MS degree from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and the PhD degree from university of Leuven, Belgium in 2002, 2005, and 2012, respectively. He was postdoctoral flow for one year in Leuven University. In 2013, he moved to Soran University, Kurdistan Region, Iraq and he was senior lecturer there for 4 years. In 2017, he joined Iran University of Science and technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran. He is currently an assistant professor and the head computer architecture branch at IUST in the school of computer engineering. His research interests include Hardware accelerators for AI, machine learning and deep learning, reconfigurable computing and real-time systems.

Rafah Rasheed Abdulmajeed (Civil Engineer /construction material) acquired a PhD in Civil Engineer/ construction material from Hasan KALYONCU University/ Turkey (2022), and an MSc in construction material from the University of Technology -Baghdad (2005), and a BSc in Civil Engineering (1994) from the University of Technology -Baghdad. She started her academic career at Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University from 2005 to 2009. From 2009 till now Lecturer at Erbil Polytechnic University / Erbil Technical Engineering College.

Qahhar received the PhD in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland in 2015, MSc in Computer Information Engineering from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2001, and BSc in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Salahaddin University Erbil in 1993. He has more than 20 years tertiary teaching experience and 10 years industrial experience in communications and computer system engineering in Kurdistan, Australia and Malaysia. Qahhar is the solo or first author of IEEE Transactions, IEEE journals and IEEE Letters. He is reviewing for IEEE journals and an organizing committee of the International Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference ITNAC and a technical program committee for a number of International conferences. He is the recipient of a number of international scholarships such as Australian Postgraduate Awards, The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Scholarship (or MSP) and Malaysian International Postgraduate Research Award (IPRA). He is a member of IEEE, Engineers Australia, Australian Computer Society (ACS), Engineers Canada and Kurdistan Engineers Union. His current research interests include low-power wide area networks, IoT, green communication and industry 4.0.
